Japanese Cherry Blossom Festival

Recently, I went to the Japanese Cherry Blossom Festival. There were actually not many cherry blossom trees. Our family was going there with of Sophie’s friends’ families. So first when we got there, we had to find the to other families. Once we found them, we all started talking and browsing around the tents that surrounded us. There were so many tents, some advertising, some just selling jewelry and other things. After we looked at all the tents, (believe me, there was a lot) we watched a show. The show was at the front of the festival, and dancers were dancing in them. They were really talented. Some of the dancers used humongous drums to make music. We watched a couple of dances, then the families (including me) all walked down the street and walked into a small room. The room was FULL with origami figures. I read a sign by the door, and the sign said that the origami people were imitating the first Japanese Cherry Blossom Festival. There were origami people, carriages, animals, and more. In one corner of the room, there was the teacher of the students who made the origami festival. She had two really cute puppies with her. This is one of them:

This is an origami imitate of the puppy that the owner made. Even their outfit is sort of the same.

The lady who owned them even let me pet them!

All the families left the origami room and entered another room. This room was full of beautiful flowers. It smelled amazing. I used my camera to take so many pictures of them. Here are a few pictures of them:

After a while, we all got hungry. So all the families walked into the nearby mall. It was humongous. My dad started looking on his phone for a place to eat. In a couple of minutes, he found a place. I was thinking that it would be a very yummy place to eat. All I had to do was go to the restaurant. So we all went to the place. Next to the restaurant, there was a desert store called Sophie’s Crepes.

Sophie was sort of excited about it, and wanted to go there after lunch.

Dad told us it would be sort of a short wait. But it was a lllloooooonnnnnggg wait. It took about a half an hour to actually get inside the restaurant. I was right about the food being yummy, though. I had katsu, a japanese dish. It is chicken with panko bread crumbs on top of it. There was miso soup, a salad, and a sauce to go with my plate. My dish was very good.

Turns out that we couldn’t go to Sophie’s Crepes because the line was super long. So we continued down the mall and came to another place with crepes. Sophie wanted to go there. I wanted to go too. But it turns out that we both ended up getting a smoothie/drink with tapioca balls in it. All the families browsed in a bunch of other stores. Except dad. He went to move the parking spot. We all had a great time. After that, it was time to go. Our family located our car, and we buckled and went home.
